Many people say Dubai is the place! They have the guts and the means!

I totally agree. Dubai is definitley the place to have something like this built. It is becoming the center of the world. WIth all the new projects coming up, Dubai World Central, Bawadi, Dubai Waterfront, etc. Let's not forget the the huge expansion plans of Emirates Airline.
I definitley see Dubai as the right place for such a world attraction site.

Hi Sherif, fabulous idea! What I find fascinating is that this thinking is as one across the world, and as time passes, its is believed to continue to appear as a one effort. However, I realize our current reality on the planet is still divided both culturally and physically; we don't know when and if our planet will become more unified. Perhaps having several sites, each having an obvious link to the whole (as one) is an interesting spin. Future generations would perhaps see we were thinking as one yet addressing the many we were at this time. For future generations, we would demonstrate even with our divides across the planet we were inspired to act as one.

Hey Don, thanks for your comment about multiple sites. It makes sense and it will require a lot more collaboration. Let's keep creating the momentum through joining members. I am currently working on a detailed business plan for the fund raising. Thanks again!

Multiple locations sounds like a great idea. It could take us even to a virtual pyramid... something close to the wikipedia... I think the Pyramid has that physical aspect to it that fascinates us and defies time... someone said that man fears time but time fears the Pyramids!

Yes Adel, it is an old Arab proverb!
Came to my mind the Pioneer 10 and 11 plaques which were sent to outer space in 1973-74 to give the best idea about mankind in a limited space or the Voyager Golden Record sent in 1977 with more comprehensive information.
However I must say that I am more thrilled by the idea of a real "physical" and monumental pyramid. One which would really stand the test of time. We could even imagine leaving ample space on its walls for future generations to make the updates...let say every century.
I must say I am less thrilled by the idea of doing it in Dubai where it would be another big project amidst many gigantic ones.
I would love to imagine it in Egypt of course but I understand the problems and limitations.
If I have a luminous idea, I shall share it immediately.

yes whatever place you choose, it shouldn't be Egypt. Why? because it will compare with the Giza plateau. The Japanese sometime ago, the Mitsubishi company, if I remember well, tried to erect one and brought to the site many huge towered cranes and failed. The idea is to build a small one like the one in Rome or Paris just as a prototype. I am sure the officials in Dubai can be convinced because they have been convinced already of many odd things among which the ice city. The guy who can convince them shall be sooooooo lucky. Good luck

Yes Dubai would be the perfect spot that can be a big project accommodating people who have the vision and initiating a professional mission to achieve. Good Luck

i would start it in Egypt in hurgada or Sharm el Sheikh

I would have to say Egypt, this idea alone can create the wave of change that we have long been waiting for, it can mobilize people behind a national project that saves our pride as Egyptians.

I believe that we CAN do it in Egypt if the project is PR'ed correctly and a critical mass of Egyptians are convinced that this would save our national pride.

I would HATE to see this start somewhere else, as this is a complete submission that Egypt has failed, I for one will never give up on this country.

I vote for Egypt, Egypt will get my vote 1000 times

As we are living the Chinese century, perhaps we should think about China as being a good venue for at least one of the Pyramids. Maybe they would be interested in building something for the future to redeem the losses brought about by the destruction of many of their ancient relics during the cultural revolution. They have the technology (demonstrated by their super-Olympic show) and financial wherewithal to fund such a project. Just a thought!

That's a very valid idea. I am wondering who to approach? How to approach them?
